IBC 2019 Post Show

Venera IBC Post ShowAnother great IBC show is behind us! As usual we had a productive week at IBC in Amsterdam, with visits from and conversations with our customers, technology partners and interested prospects.

We had visitors from all corners of the world, Japan, Korea, Russia, US, as well as various countries in South America, Europe and Middle East! With proliferation of content worldwide, the need for robust, comprehensive, and affordable QC solutions continue to grow, and at Venera Technologies, we are happy to have the right combination of tools for on-premise as well as cloud to meet these needs.

We had visits from titans of the industry such as Disney, Dolby, and Netflix. We announced our support for HDR Dolby Vision and were pleased to show case it for the Dolby Team and get their feedback.

We met with Adstream, who is one of our great customers for our Quasar cloud-based QC solution, who recently passed the milestone of processing over 120,000 assets in Quasar. They are now processing thousands of assets PER DAY through Quasar at all their facilities worldwide!

We participated in an IMF 101 tutorial session, demonstrating the deep capabilities of Pulsar and Quasar in validation of IMF packages. We are the only QC vendor with the deep set of validation checks for IMF. The session was well attended with over 100 participants.

We saw great interest in our Quasar, native cloud QC solution which embraces the cloud-centric features such as usage based pricing, dynamic scalability, and SaaS offering.

We also show cased our automatic Audio language identification capability, to identify the language of the audio tracks, and compare it with the metadata labels of the media file, by analyzing the spoken audio. This is of great interest to our Airline (In Flight Entertainment) customers and all those who deal with multi-language content.

We announced the availability of Harding PSE testing in our Pulsar Pay-Per-Use (PPU) offering. Pulsar PPU is a unique pay as you go on-premise QC solution that provides all the powers of our QC functionality but in a Pay-Per-Use model which fits better for those who have smaller volume of content and can’t justify the expenditure to purchase a perpetual license.

We discussed our CoMMA (Componentized Media Management and Assembly) initiative with our partners CineCert and Marquise Technologies. Together, we have created a cohesive integrated solution for processing and managing componentized content, such as IMF and DCP packages.

And last but definitely not least, we talked to smaller media companies that showed interest in our ‘QC as a service’ offering where we use our own tools and do the QC work for them, eliminating their need to spend their resources to do the QC work!
